Snowflake [operators](https://docs.snowflake.com/en/sql-reference/operators) in [Snowflake compatibility mode](/reference-sql/snowflake/overview).

## Supported operators

| Operator                                                                                 | Support          | Notes                                                                                                         |
| :--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | :--------------- | :------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| [Arithmetic](https://docs.snowflake.com/en/sql-reference/operators-arithmetic)           | Supported        | `+`, `-`, `*`, `/`, `%`. See the note on integer division below.                                              |
| [Comparison](https://docs.snowflake.com/en/sql-reference/operators-comparison)           | Supported        | `=`, `!=`, `<>`, `<`, `<=`, `>`, `>=`, `BETWEEN`, `IN`, `IS NULL`.                                            |
| [Logical](https://docs.snowflake.com/en/sql-reference/operators-logical)                 | Supported        | `AND`, `OR`, `NOT`.                                                                                           |
| [`\|\|` concatenation](https://docs.snowflake.com/en/sql-reference/operators-arithmetic) | Supported        | Also concatenates arrays.                                                                                     |
| [`::` cast](https://docs.snowflake.com/en/sql-reference/operators-cast)                  | Supported        | Equivalent to `CAST`.                                                                                         |
| [`:` path](https://docs.snowflake.com/en/sql-reference/operators-subscript)              | Supported        | Path access into a semi-structured column.                                                                    |
| [`[]` subscript](https://docs.snowflake.com/en/sql-reference/operators-subscript) | With limitations | Indexes into a semi-structured path, as `payload:tags[1]`. Indexing an array value directly is not supported. |
| [`LIKE`, `ILIKE`](https://docs.snowflake.com/en/sql-reference/functions/like)            | Supported        |                                                                                                               |
| [`LIKE ANY`](https://docs.snowflake.com/en/sql-reference/functions/like)                 | Not supported    | Rewrite as `LIKE 'a%' OR LIKE 'b%'`.                                                                          |
| [`RLIKE`, `REGEXP`](https://docs.snowflake.com/en/sql-reference/functions/rlike)         | Supported        |                                                                                                               |

## Limitations

Integer division differs from Snowflake and is the difference most likely to affect a real workload, because division is common and the result is plausible rather than obviously wrong:

```sql theme={"theme":{"light":"css-variables","dark":"css-variables"}}
SELECT 1/2;
```

Returns `0`, where Snowflake returns `0.500000`. Snowflake has no integer division: `/` always produces a `NUMBER`. Any migrated query that divides two integers silently returns different numbers, and there is no diagnostic. Cast one operand to make the intent explicit:

```sql theme={"theme":{"light":"css-variables","dark":"css-variables"}}
SELECT 1::FLOAT / 2;   -- 0.5 in both
```
